Things to Remember
There is a you telling you another story of you. Listen to her.
There are other ways each moment could go.
Don’t believe all of your thoughts.
The mind is a wild and dangerous place. Also–beautiful and wise. Listen to all of it, but believe with courageous discernment.
Intellectual integrity is a generous virtue.
Expect nothing and appreciate everything.
Belong to yourself.
When doors close, consider dismantling the structure. Maybe it was too small for you anyways.
Slow to caterpillar pace. Stop everything and check out the bug your kid wants to show you right now. It’s actually the most important thing. Dinner can be late. It’s gonna be okay. Maybe even better if they’re hungry when they sit for it.
When the sweeping tide of overwhelm takes you, let it take you. Then, look for starfish and anemones in the backwash.
Practice arriving. And perfect timing.
Practice arriving in perfect timing.
Practice imperfectionism. Prune your critic as you would the apple tree in the backyard. Lovingly and unreservedly.
Scatter seeds in all directions and watch your wild garden grow.
We are the dream makers of our own dreams.
