Hi, I'm Lani. I offer coaching + consulting + art experiences for parents who need a little lift.

I approach my work with an open heart, social fluency, and an appreciation for the messiness of love and life. I have a deep respect for the tender territory of parenthood: the wild magic, unyielding labor, boundless love, and heart-wrenching vulnerability of it all.  It is my greatest pleasure and truest purpose to walk side by side with parents who are in it and offer all of myself to support you.

Let’s be real; parenting is hard. But it can be easier and way more enjoyable, more of the time. Here are a couple offerings to help lighten the load.

  • Coaching + Consulting.

We all have moments and seasons of our life when we need some extra support.

    My coaching offers:

    • Temperament assessments for children and parents

    • Strategies for working with challenging behavior

    • Relational support for the family system as a whole

    My consulting offers:

    • Support innovating and launching creative projects that have been stifled by the demands of raising children and are desperately wanting to be born!

  • Art + Ritual.

I offer different ways of engaging with the spirit of creativity and making art to:

    • Mark a rite of passage in your parenting journey by building an art piece in the wild with foraged nature objects

    • Connect with your kid in my parent/child art classes

    • Design and create a Ritual Wheel for your family’s rituals, activities, and traditions through the seasons

  • Groups

We all need a village; yet it is hard to come by in today’s modern world. To help remedy the absence of a true village living environment, I offer groups for mamas to gather together and:

    • bask in our collective wisdom

    • witness each other in the incredible task of raising humans and support each other’s evolution

    • explore what it is to be a mother in the world today. Inquire, question, challenge, make meaning of everything and anything in the realm of motherhood.

The parents that I work with are:

  • Wanting a more connected relationship with their kid and don’t know how to make that happen.

  • Exhausted and overwhelmed by parenthood and feel like they’re failing even though they’re doing all of the “right” things.

  • Have a “spirited” or “highly sensitive” child with whom everything they try doesn’t seem to work. “Spirited” meaning: high sensitivity, high intensity, slow adapting, and have a hard time navigating change and transitions.

  • Have a sense that their family life could function and feel so much better but they’re not sure how to get it there.

  • The inner game of parenthood.

  • The practical and tactical nuts and bolts of how to have healthy communication, connection, boundaries, routines, and rituals with your kids.

  • The social artistry and emotional intelligence that creates feel-good and functional relationships with your kids.

Together, we can work on:

  • Learn about your child’s temperament and work with you to design and re-design effective ways of working with your child, especially for the hard parts.

  • Understand the dynamics in your family system and identify what needs tending and how.

  • Prioritize your highest unmet needs and target them with some serious TLC.

  • Learn how to build a loving and connected relationship with your children.

  • Sounds so simple, but I can help you feel less alone on the parenthood journey. Be witnessed, seen, understood, heard.

I can help you:

Parenting is a wild ride.

It’s okay to not know. It’s okay to feel like your flailing through it with the chaos of a toddler on hot wheels careening through the living room.

You don’t have to be in it alone.

At the risk of sounding trite and cliche, it really does take a village.

I’d love to be part of yours.

ps. this is me and my big bro in the 80’s.

Parenting is potent.

The preciousness. The relentlessness.

The depth of all the feelings.

The seemingly ever increasing speed of life and the fleeting nature of it all.

How fast time flies despite feeling so slow in the moment.

The mania of navigating parenting and modernity.

Doing and giving so much that you’re depleted and burned out while simultaneously feeling like you’re never enough.

The mushrooming to-do list that inevitably never gets all checked off.

The finite nature of our human capacities.

The infinite nature of love.

The insanity of a toddler’s irrationality.

The incredible power of cuteness.

The heartbreak of feeling far from your teens when they’re just across the table. The sheer joy when the ice breaks and they melt into you once more.

The deepening of relational intimacy from raising a family with your partner. The unavoidable erosion of intimacy due to having children together.

Paradox is bountiful in the parenting soup.

It is my absolute pleasure to offer support to parents on the path.

PS. Fun fact and full disclosure: the picture of me at the top on the swing was taken 8 years ago before I had kids, in a dress that doesn’t fit me anymore, when I last had time for a photoshoot:)
